Cheesecake Factory Restaurants are no longer factories and not just about cheesecake anymore. If you like pleasant atmospheres, friendly faces, stylish decor and outrageous food, then Cheesecake Factory is the perfect place for you. Awesome service, large portions of delicious food, and mouth watering desserts have made the Cheesecake Factory one of the fastest growing companies in the restaurant industry.

History of Cheesecake Factory Restaurant

Oscar and Evelyn Overton opened their first bakery in the late forties to sell the Mrs. Overton's scrumptious cheesecakes. Until then, she had been delighting friends and family with her cheesecakes for years until her cheesecakes became quite the legend in her hometown of Detroit. She deeply wanted to be a stay at home mom for her children, so they decided to close the little bakery and she made her cheesecakes at home and sold began selling them to local restaurants. Once their children had grown, the Overton's opened another bakery to sell their infamous New York style cheesecakes. Together they choose to take their life savings to move to Los Angeles where they would open the first official Cheesecake Factory. At that time, it was actually a factory where cheesecakes were made but not by modern machines, Mrs. Overton baked every one herself. She and her husband worked eighteen hour days to keep up with the demand for their delectable cheesecake.

The bakery was an instant success and before long they were selling cheesecakes to most of the major restaurants in the city.  The Cheesecake Factory stayed a simple bakery for many years. They created no less than twenty different types of cheesecake and other sinful desserts. The Overton's supplied their famous desserts to many fine restaurants in their area and on to other parts of the country. Before you knew it the couple was opening the first Cheesecake Factory Restaurant with their son in Beverly Hills. As expected The restaurant was a hit from the beginning. As the restaurant continued its success, the Overton's opened several more restaurants all over the country and have continued opening more each year.

Names can be deceiving, Cheesecake Factory Restaurants are all about the food and service. For some, the name factory brings to mind images of warehouses and pick up counters, but nothing is further from the truth. Their restaurants are beautifully designed and reflect to mind images of a lovely Italian bistro. Don't let the vastness of the restaurant intimidate you. They are large establishments but the customer is still made to feel at home, valued and much appreciated. You are greeted by smiling hostesses friendly waitresses and waiters and due to popularity there can be a wait at times to be seated. But every bit worth the wait.

If you've never been to one of these restaurants you could be overwhelmed by the size of this menu on your first visit. It's HUGE! You may find yourself having a hard time making up your mind, because there is so much great food to choose from. You could try going to the main Cheesecake Factory Restaurants website and look at the online menu to give you more time to "digest" their menu. You can spend hours looking at the various items ready for you to order never mind the desert menu!. I should also warn you not to order too many items at first. The generous portions they serve you are LARGE!. I can't think of one restaurant that serves such large portions of food. The platters can easily be shared by a whole family or group of friends. If you order an appetizer, entre, and dessert, you will have enough food for a party with enough leftovers to feed doggie and kitty to boot! The food is fabulous and may people go and overeat just for the taste of the food. So order small and get more if you have room and for goodness sake, save room for dessert or start with dessert because they are definitely worth a calories. One thing is for sure, no one leaves a Cheesecake Factory Restaurant hungry. It's simply not possible.

Cheesecakes transcend ordinary cream cheese (The Philadelphia Inquirer)
The happy childhood goes like this: My mother unwraps the silver boxes of cream cheese as if they are presents.
